Expression of Interest for membership on the James Cook University (JCU) Graduate Certificate of Infection Control External Reference Group (ERG)
ACIPC members are invited to submit an expression of Interest to join JCU’s ERG for their Graduate Certificate of Infection Control.
Background
James Cook University (JCU) Queensland offers a Graduate Certificate of Infection Control (GCIC) which provides the essential knowledge required to contribute meaningfully to an infection prevention and control (IPC) team and manage an IPC program in the workplace. Subjects within the course align with Standard 3 of the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards and are broad in context to address IPC in rural, remote and other resource limited settings. Students who complete the Graduate Certificate of Infection Control are eligible for accreditation with the Australasian College for Infection Prevention and Control (ACIPC) upon application.Purpose and role
The GCIC External Reference Group (ERG) will provide key stakeholder advice to the GCIC Course Coordinator, to help maintain relevancy and currency of the course to the workplace and foster strategic discussions and collaborative partnerships between JCU academics, consumers and peak professional bodies.Scope
The input of the Reference Group should be focused on healthcare settings in public and private facilities, office-based practice (General Practice, Dental and Community Health), Aged Care, and public health, with representatives from rural settings.Tenure
The duration of the reference group membership will initially be for 12 months, from September 2021 to September 2022.
Expressions of interest are particularly invited from the following areas:* Large city-based tertiary facility
* Aged care
* Dental
* General Practice
* Community-based nursing services
* Paramedicine
* Veterinary medicine
* Consumer representative
