    The Emergency Care Research Institute (ECRI) Institute has released its Top
    10 Technology Hazards for 2018. Amongst the list are:

    . Endoscope Reprocessing Failures Continue to Expose Patients to
    Infection Risk

    . Mattresses and Covers May Be Infected by Body Fluids and
    Microbiological Contaminants

    . Improper Cleaning May Cause Device Malfunctions, Equipment
    Failures, and Potential for Patient Injury

    In addition the FDA have issued new recommendations to help facilities
    ensure hospital bed mattress covers are safe for use in health care and home
