We have just released Foundations courses for the rest of the year and enrolments are now open for courses commencing April-November 2021. Group bookings are available.

What is the Foundations of Infection Prevention and Control course?

The ACIPC Foundations of Infection Prevention and Control course provides a valuable pathway for further learning and is an important resource for those wishing to pursue a career as an Infection Control Professional.

This is the same course that the Aged Care IPC Leads have been required to undertake.

The course has 11 SELF PACED modules. Foundations allows participants to apply knowledge to their own practice and is a key component to achieving the ACIPC Primary Credential (CICP-P).

Topics include environmental hygiene, outbreak management, employee health, surveillance, epidemiology and microbiology. This course reflects recent evidence, guidelines and standards.

Where does this course take place?

    Online AND its self-paced!

Will I receive support throughout this course?

Course facilitators will support students with live webinars (recorded), phone and email support.

What level is the course set at?

This course is designed to be at the AQF8 level. This means that the course is set at a similar level of complexity and expertise expected within a Graduate Certificate/Diploma program. Successful completion of this course will award a Certificate of Completion in the ACIPC Foundations of Infection Prevention and Control (FIPC) Course. While this is not a University awarded Graduate Certificate/Diploma, the ACIPC FIPC course has been recognised by Griffith University and graduates from the ACIPC Foundations of IPC course may apply for credit against 8847NRS Contemporary Infection Prevention Practices.
