    Hi All,
I am looking at business continuity plans for our sterilising department and would like to know what you would do and why to guide the update of our plans:

If your RO plant went down and was unavailable, would you:
A- switch to mains water if your equipment allowed for this?
B- shut down your equipment/servicces that requires RO until the problem was resolved?

If you chose A – is this because:
1- you have additional filtration of your mains water that brings it closer in alignment to the water requirements of AS4187
2- there is more pressure to maintain surgery levels/CSSD operations than allowing you to shut down?
    3- Other?

    Thanks for your help.

    Kind regards

    Kate Ryan

    Hi all,
Consider installing a fully reticulated system with 2 ROs can prevent the risk of failure occurring. It also means that the system can still function when undergoing repairs or maintenance. It can be more costly but worth considering for risk management.
