    Hi all

    http://news.ninemsn.com.au/health/2013/03/18/03/28/hospital-superbug-prompts-call-for-action

I thought some list subscribers may be interested in the above media report of carbapenem resistant Enterobacteriaceae (CRE) in an Australia hospital, given the recent release of the US CDC report on CRE (see http://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/preview/mmwrhtml/mm6209a3.htm?s_cidmm6209a3_w )

Has anyone in Australia / New Zealand seen outbreaks of infection with these resistant organisms this year?

    Cheers
    Michael

    Hi Michael,

The MJA have once again dedicated an issue to all things infection
related, including antimicrobial resistance, HAIs and infinitely
interesting parasites, to coincide with this week’s combined
Australasian Society for Infectious Diseases (ASID) and Communicable
Disease Control Network Australia conference in Canberra. And includes
the article that news source refers to.
