    Dear Colleagues

It is important that we can share and learn from our COVID experience at this time and in the months ahead. A rapid review panel for COVID infection prevention and control articles submitted to Infection, Disease and Health has been established. This would not be possible without the support of those who have committed to being part of this. My thanks to those involved.

Any COVID related infection prevention and control articles submitted to IDH will utilise this rapid review panel. Should an article be accepted for publication, a fast track publication service will be facilitated. Further, any COVID articles published in IDH will be freely available for the coming months.

I would encourage members who have something novel to contribute to the COVID literature, to consider publishing their work. Letters to the Editor (Correspondence) are also welcomed and may be the simplest way to communicate your contribution. For those interested, I have also put some ‘tips’ or considerations below.

Is my work likely to be of interest?

    * Does my work add to knowledge or contribute something new?

    * Does my work relate to the prevention and or control of COVID?

    * Is my publication likely to help others in some way and or influence practice or policy?

Tips for preparing your COVID submission

    * In your introduction, avoid providing too much data on cases – numbers and figures are changing rapidly and journals are not the most reliable source for such data.

    * Remember to include statements around funding, conflicts of interest and ethics (if applicable) at the end of work

    * Remember to reference statements appropriately. To make this easier, you can use any referencing style when you submit, so long as it is consistent

    * Have you and someone else proof read your work before submitting?

    * The author guidelines on the IDH website have detailed information http://www.idhjournal.com.au

    Kind regards
