Dear Colleagues
It is important that we can share and learn from our COVID-19 experience at this time and in the months ahead. A rapid review panel for COVID-19 infection prevention and control articles submitted to Infection, Disease and Health was been established a few months ago. This was very successful in providing quick and timely feedback to papers that may be of time critical importance to the infection control community. I want to publicly thank those involved.
In the interest of sustainability, I am looking for additional support for this panel, to enable some to step down, and also bolster the numbers as more articles continue to be submitted. The journal has seen a massive increase in submissions this year. Reviewers on the COVID-19 rapid review panel typically review articles within 7 days of request and on average have completed one review a month.
If you are able to assist and be part of the COVID-19 rapid review panel, please contact me directly.
I would also flag that non COVID-19 articles are still equally important and require the input of reviewers. If you are able to assist in this capacity, please also let me know. These articles allow more time to review and provide feedback, typically 2-3 weeks.
Finally, thank you to all IDH journal reviewers who provide valuable input. I hope I can continue to draw on your expertise during this time.
I hope you are finding the articles published in IDH of use.
Kind regards
