Opinions needed regarding the risk of triple antibiotic ointment and
neosporin (both have polymixin b) conferring colistin (polymixin e)
resistance by selecting for the *mcr-1* gene.
In the USA, there has been identification of the mc1 gene in a pig.
Colistin is not used in agriculture in the USA and the source is unknown.
