We have electronic birthing beds from 2 -4 years old. The beds have many complex joints, attachments and height adjustments plus molded welded plastic joins used in the construction.
We have identified many issues in trying to clean joints, seam welds and surfaces that due to the nature of the birthing events can be heavily contaminated with blood/body fluids despite use of water proof drapes.
As these are electric beds steam cleaning is not an option on these potential spaces.
From time to time our cleaners are using brushes similar to tooth brushes and are very disappointed with the ongoing difficulties of this often repeated task.
Just wondering how others are tackling this and if anyone is aware of a cleaning system or dedicated equipment for cleaning these complex beds.

Hi Coralie, we have the same issue. We asked the rep to come and educate the cleaners on the easiest way to access the difficult to clean parts which really helped. We have purchased a small steam cleaner that can get into the nooks and crannies and WH&S were happy as long as the bed remains unplugged when using it.
