Dear all,
In the 2010 Australian Guidelines for Prevention and Control of
Infection in Healthcare (Part B5:1) it is recommended that bed curtains
be changed/cleaned frequently:
*Very High Risk: weekly
*High Risk: Monthly
*Significant Risk: biannually
*Low Risk: annually
*MRO/infectious disease risk: change/clean on discharge
* Very High RiskOutbreak situations
* High RiskICU, HDU, Burns, Renal, Op suite
* Significant RiskGeneral wards
* Low RiskRehab, Long term care, Office based care
I am interested in knowing how other organisations tackle this. Do
other organisations have a formalised program for changing curtains?
