    Dear AICA members,

A group of AICA and ASID members have drafted an AICA/ASID position statement for Clostridium difficile and infection control. This paper is a supplement to AICA’s initial position paper published in May 2010 and is available from: http://www.aica.org.au/default.asp?PageID62&nPosition+Papers

We are intending this to be published and would appreciate feedback from the broader AICA membership.

Comments can be emailed directly to Rhonda Stuart (ASID) via: rhonda.stuart@southernhealth.org.au no later than Wednesday 4th August.

The emergence of the hypervirulent strain of clostridium difficile highlights the need for targeted infection control interventions to prevent further transmission in healthcare facilities. I encourage all of you to read the paper and where possible to make comment.

Please let me know if you require further information,
