NSWHi fellow ACIPC members
I would like to join Phil and Sara’s welcome to our new members, and add some tips for use of Infexion Connexion that will help make it a useful experience for everyone.
The list strips all attachments except PDFs, to reduce the risk of dissemination of viruses and malware via emails sent from the list. While you might think this won’t affect you unless you actually add an attachment, remember that your email signature can contain images that will not come through (see my signature block below as an example). Some email signatures are attached by organisation email servers, rather than you adding them, so please be aware of how you email signature block works.
Whenever you post a message to Infexion Connexion you need to ensure that your full name, your professional designation or title, and your place of work and/or any company affiliation is visible. This is to help those who might reply to your message understand the professional and geographical environment in which you work. This can be quite important, as working in residential care can be different from working in acute tertiary care, and a setting in a city centre may be different from a small country town, as simple examples.
So, before you send a message to the list, think about how other members will see your details to help understand those things. And remember that text signature blocks are not always attached when you reply from mobile devices!
Let’s all use Infexion Connexion in the best way possible, for the most benefit of everyone. And don’t be shy in asking questions: the only dumb question is the one that is not asked!
Cheers
Michael Wishart
