Dear Colleagues
We are trying to gauge how much evidence is required for employed MO’s and VMO’s in the aseptic technique training and competency assessment.
Would like to know what organisations are doing or achieving with this group – assuming that alla) surgeons and trainees are up to date with their compliance requirements by virtue of being up-to-date with CPD and credentialing.
I am aware that some organisations ask all their employed MO’s to complete the education and competency. Is this a once off, annual or another timeframe?
Do organisations accept certificates and retain on your own records if this is completed at other organisations?
We undertake training and competency assessment for all clinical staff who perform aseptic technique and our employed MO’s currently.
Do we need to do more in this space??
Any shared experiences or guidance is welcome.
Happy to be contacted offline.Kind regards
Phillipa Parsons
