Dear all,
I was wondering what the collective stance is regarding uptake of AS 7071- Placement and Presentation of Hand Hygiene Materials.
There have been concerns raised regarding our non compliance with this standard in the context of new builds in some of our hospitals.
I could find no direct reference to this document in the The Australian Health Facility Guidelines, Part D, Standard 3, or NSW Health Infection Control Policies.
I appreciate your kind assistance.
Kind regards
Helen Truscott

25/01/2017 at 3:05 pm #73578Hi Helen,
The correct Standard number is AS1071.
The standard provides a framework but cannot be considered the answer for every setting.
Provided the area has been evaluated, the general principles of the standard applied, and ‘exceptions’ explained compliance can be argued.Kind regards
