Dear All,
To encourage infection prevention and control research the Asia Pacific
Society of Infection Control (APSIC) have partnered with Schlke & GmbH to
conduct a research project in intensive care units (ICUs) in countries in
the Asia Pacific region.
http://apsic.info/research.php
The project is a study comparing soap and water bathing of ICU patients with
daily bathing with Octenisan (antimicrobial wash lotion).
The antimicrobial wash lotion and the training of 2 staff from each hospital
(one of whom must be an infection control practitioner/consultant) will be
provided free of charge.
Outcome measures for the project are:
Antimicrobial-resistant organisms in ICU
Bloodstream infections in ICU
If you know an infection control team or a hospital that would like to
participating in the APSIC research project please send me an email
infexion@ozemail.com.au or contact me via
the APSIC webpage http://apsic.info/
Regards
Glenys
