The Australasian College for Infection Prevention and Control (ACIPC) is the peak professional body for infection prevention and control across Australasia. Established in 2012 from the merger of the Australian Infection Control Association with the existing state-based infection control associations across Australia, the College is an incorporated company engaged actively in a broad range of national and international programs representing the discipline of infection prevention and control including consultancy, policy development, education, professional development. The work of the College is driven by its many significant partnerships with governments, universities, corporations, and community groups nationally and internationally, which are core to our approach. The College is moving into its next phase of development building on a reputation for innovative service delivery and client driven practice. Central to its strategic plans is the establishment of an Operations Manager role that will provide high level executive, project, financial and administrative support while contributing to the development of a strategic framework necessary for the function, promotion and, expansion of the College.About the role and services required:
A vacancy exists for an experienced person to provide high-level operational support and management of the College during the next important phase of its growth and development.The role will require establishing business processes for key operational and strategic functions and managing all aspects related to the daily management of the College in partnership with the Executive Council.
The Operations Manager is a member of the ACIPC Executive Team and reports to the President and the Executive Council for the delivery of a range of support services to support the College and its functions, including financial, human resource, service development, quality, and performance management.
The Operations Manager will:
(a) provide high level executive, project, financial and administrative support to the College that contributes to informed decision making and support the achievement of objectives in accordance with agreed business plans, standards and budgets.
(b) contribute to the development of strategic framework necessary for the function, promotion, and expansion of the College.Key personal attributes of the Operations Manager include:
the ability to work unsupervised or with little direct supervision
a strong drive and motivation
the ability to take an innovative approach
a strong desire for continuous quality improvement
the ability to make best use of limited resources
the ability to manage multiple tasks flexibly.The successful applicant must demonstrate high level capability regarding the day-to-day management of ta similar body. Preference will be given to those who have worked in a health or college structure.
Key Selection Criteria:
Proven ability to:
communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders
assess needs of members and stakeholders
establish and maintain consultative networks within key industry stakeholders and groups
lead, promote and represent an organisation
manage change
develop & implement strategic plans, operational plans, projects and budgets
lead policy development
coordinate and manage all operational aspects of an organisation
deliver human resource management policy & practice
manage risk and legislative and accreditation requirements within a company framework and adhere to practices prescribed by ASIC
delivery of organisational strategic plans
ability to manage conflicting priorities and manage resourcesHigh level experience with :
project management
management of sub-committees &/or project groups
interpretation, analysis and evaluation of research data and industry reports
coordination and management of an organisation’s activities and events (preferably for a College or health related body)Essential experience with:
– Communicating and managing staff
– Working with diversity
– Dispute resolution
– A number of computer software programs
– Financial resource management
– Coordination of financial management protocols and practice
– Identification of funding opportunities
– Corporate reporting (internally and in accordance with ASIC requirements)
– Management of contractsEngagement Conditions:
A temporary full time (1.0 EFT) contract is available for 12 months. Further contracts may be considered following performance review.
The place of work is flexible however; the successful candidate/business must have the required infrastructure and office facilities to perform the duties of the Operations Manager to the satisfaction of the President.
Remuneration will be commensurate with skills and relevant experience. Range $100,000 – $120,000Further information and how to apply:
