    Dear AICA Members

    ABSTRACT SUBMISSION DEADLINE FOR AICA CONFERENCE 2010 HAS BEEN EXTENDED! You now have until the 18 June 2010 to submit an abstract for the 6th Biennial Australian Infection Control Conference to be held in Perth in October 2010.

    In keeping with the Conference theme ‘Infection Control Odyssey’, abstracts are now invited for oral and poster presentations on the following topics:

    *Sustainable infection control programs into the future

    *Implementing evidence-based practice and affecting change

    *Antimicrobial resistance, stewardship and future influences

    *Advances in laboratory diagnostics

    *Infection prevention and control across the healthcare continuum

    *Environmental/engineering controls

    *Innovative technologies

    *Reducing infection risks and improving client safety

    *The science of compliance and novel approaches

    *Tropical diseases – new and re-emerging issues
