    Dear Brains Trust,

We are currently reviewing hand hygiene in our dedicated COVID ward. Staff wear full PPE all shift due to it being open bed bays without doors. With AGP occurring. Although we have gloves available within the ward due to wall pressures there is no space to put gloves in bed spaces.

    1. Are hospitals auditing COVID patients/ wards?

    1. How are hospitals managing to maintain 5 moments of hand hygiene? Especially during complex care where multiple moments are required i.e blood collection, IV therapy and managing multiple drains

    1. Are hospitals opting to adhere to 5 moments of hand hygiene without routine use of gloves and using gloves when staff will come in contact with blood and body fluids or are have hospitals chosen to care for patients wearing gloves and not considering the 5 moments?

    1. Is there anything else that we have not considered?

    We welcome private comments.

    Thanks in advance.

    Holly
