Election Statement

As an experienced healthcare leader with over a decade of expertise in Infection Prevention and Control (IPC), I am seeking election to continue my contributions as a Board Director. My current role as a Clinical Nurse Consultant IPC at Royal North Shore Hospital and Board Director for the Australasian College of Infection Prevention and Control (ACIPC) has allowed me to develop critical leadership and governance skills. I have successfully completed the Foundations of Directorship course through the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD), which has strengthened my capacity to contribute to high-level strategic planning and governance.

My professional experience includes active contributions to policy development and the implementation of infection control protocols, with a focus on patient safety and quality care. I am committed to ensuring regulatory compliance and transparency within the board setting with knowledge of both the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) and the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC).

I am passionate about fostering collaboration and delivering outcomes that benefit both ACIPC and their members. I am the current chair of the Membership Communication and Engagement Committee (MCEC) and have overseen the inaugural implementation of the mentoring program, the development of toolkits of focus days/weeks (i.e. hand hygiene day, world hepatitis day) and the implementation of new awards to highlight the amazing work within our IPC Community. I am a member of the professional and credentialing standards committee and find value in watching our members work through the credentialing process. Through my expertise in governance and my strategic mindset, I aim to continue supporting the board in achieving its mission and objectives as we progress through the ACIPC Strategic Plan 2023-2028.

I look forward to the opportunity to contribute further to the ACIPCs success should I be re-elected as a Board Director in 2025.
