ACIPC congratulates Belinda Henderson, winner of the 2024 Claire Boardman Award.
Belinda has over 25 years’ experience as an Infection Control Practitioner and is a Past President of the Australasian College for Infection Prevention and Control (ACIPC). She is the Chief Nurse for infection prevention and control for the Queensland Department of Health and leads the Queensland IPC unit. Belinda provides clinical expertise on many National and International groups including AHPPCs National Infection control expert group (ICEG), ACHQS IPC program, ACIPC education, and professional standards and credentialing, Queensland’s Statewide Infection clinical network, and is actively engaged with the WHOs GOARN program a focal point for QIPCU. Her qualifications include a Masters of Advanced Health Practice in Infection Control, she holds Expert level credentialing and is a Fellow of the Australasian College for Infection Prevention and Control.

About the award
The Claire Boardman Medal for Leadership in Infection Prevention and Control is the highest honour of the Australasian College for Infection Prevention and Control. The medal is awarded in recognition of the College’s Inaugural President, Ms Claire Boardman, and her leadership in establishing the College. The Claire Boardman Medal for Leadership in Infection Prevention and Control is bestowed upon a member of the College who demonstrates outstanding commitment and leadership to the College and the profession and practice of infection prevention and control.
