About:
The Infection Management Service (IMS) provides operational advice, support, and education to all facilities within the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS).
The framework for delivery of service is underpinned by the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) National Standard 3 – Preventing and Controlling Infections, and other legislation and policy/guideline/protocols prescribed by the Department of Health.
A core component of the Infection Control Program is the development and implementation of strategies to prevent or minimise healthcare-associated infection including multi-drug resistant organism surveillance, occupational exposure, bloodstream infections and implementation of National initiatives/directives such as immunisation and hand hygiene.
