World Zoonoses Day is observed every year on 6 July in recognition of the achievements of Louis Pasteur, who administered the first rabies vaccination on 6 July 1885.
With around 60% of all known human infectious disease agents originating in animals, it is vital that the prevention of zoonotic disease is prioritised.
ACIPC recognises the vital role IPC plays in preventing the spread of zoonotic disease, and we’ll be offering our new Veterinary Foundations of Infection Prevention and Control later this year.
