I to would discourage it on the basis that a zip urn is constantly
producing heat which may effect the stability of the medications within
the room, particularly during summer if air flow is an issue.
Cheers Matt

Subject: Medication Rooms

Hi All,

I have been
asked to consider placing a zip urn for hot water access
in a medication room.  My initial response was it is not
appropriate to make tea and coffee in the same room
where staff are drawing up medications.  However when I
have looked for the evidence to back this up I have had
trouble finding any.

What do
others think about this issue from an infection
prevention and control point of view?

Kind
Regards,
